Bonny Doon Vineyard's founder, winemaker and resident philosopher Randall Grahm teams up with Dr. José Vouillamoz, the internationally renowned Swiss botanist, grape geneticist and co-author of Wine Grapes:  A Complete Guide to 1,368 Vine Varieties, Including Their Origins and Flavours.

On Saturday, October 29, we'll gather at Grahm's Popelouchum Estate Vineyard in San Juan Bautista for a sumptuous afternoon of sipping, feasting, fellowship and discovery.

as we travel around the world via 26 wines representing each letter of the alphabet from A-Z – most of which you’ve never tasted before and will likely never taste again. Grapetionary A-Z is equal parts discovery and decadence. 

Jason Tesauro, author, speaker and head sommelier at Barboursville Vineyards hosts this high-impact event fit for seasoned oenophiles and beginners alike. Guests will also enjoy a sublime, multi-course meal prepared by renowned Chef Nicholas Stefanelli. It’ll be “Masseria in MD” as Stefanelli closes the restaurant and brings his entire team to us. Grapetionary A-Z is an interactive wine tasting event curated by sommeliers and hosted by Jason Tesauro of Modern Gentleman. Based on Master of Wine Jancis Robinson's monumental tome, "Wine Grapes: A Complete Guide to 1,368 Vine Varieties, Including Their Origins and Flavours,” attendees taste varietal wines representing each letter of the alphabet from A-Z. 

But you won't find Chardonnay or Merlot in this line-up. Our letter C might be Coda di Volpe, Charbono or Cornali. And M could be represented by Magliocco, Mencia or Moschofilero. Grapetionary is an engaging social affair and an enlightening bucket list event suitable for any level of oenophile from novice to Master Sommelier. Beginners are wowed by the breadth of discovery; experienced tasters are impressed with the impeccable curation and quality.
